Personal space is an ambiguous concept but the invasion of personal space can be an intense social issue. Decrease confusion by using these visual tools to guide students through effective regulation of this social aspect.

This tool includes a three leveled Personal Space monitor rating scales along with a social distancing leveled poster.

These are effective teaching strategies to use for both general education students and students with learning disabilities including autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, or emotional disability.

This Invasion Personal Space teaching set includes

  • Personal Space Monitor with printable arrows (3 versions)
  • Social Distancing Monitor with printable arrows (3 versions)
  • Healthy Living Tips
  • How to Directions

Choose which size of chart to use, a full page chart in larger font, a smaller more mobile chart or a smaller chart with extra descriptors.

I use these for students to keep at their work areas, in their folders or even wear on a lanyard around the neck.

Glue the printed chart on construction paper or cardstock.

Laminate and cut out. Use the supplied arrow and tape it to a clothespin.

This allows the teacher, parent or student to move the arrow to the appropriate time category.

If a clothespin is too cumbersome, use a paperclip to easily move around.

These invasion personal space tools are effective for both general education students and students with learning disabilities including autism.
