Description

Teach your students respectful vs disrespectful behavior and get respect activities for kids tools for how to handle a disrespectful child.

Showing respect is a great tool to help people achieve daily successes.

Decrease disrespectful student situations and power struggles by using these visual tools to guide students through the levels of respect.

To help disrespectful students, this tool includes three leveled respect monitor rating scales.

These respect activities for kids visuals are effective strategies to use for both general education students and students with learning disabilities including autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, or emotional disability.

Respect Activities for Kids set includes

  • Respect Monitor with printable arrows (3 versions)
  • Respectful vs. Disrespectful Student Actions (2 pages)
  • Respectful Redo: Think Sheet for Disrespect (2 versions)
  • How to Directions

The respect monitor set includes two additional pages of Respectful and Disrespectful Student Actions.

Discuss this in 1-1, small group, or whole group time.

Each respectful action is paired with a disrespectful action.

When a time of respect or disrespect occurs, the teacher uses this chart to show the choice made and the counter choice as well.

The Manners Monitor pairs great with this resource.  Click here to see it.

A Respectful Redo page is a think sheet that the teacher utilizes when a need arises for a student to process a disrespectful action.

Also, utilize these respect activities for kids as behavior documentation and progress monitoring.

Print the charts you choose to use for the targeted student.

The small monitor can be used for students to keep at their work areas, in their folders or even wear on a lanyard around the neck.

Glue the printed chart on construction paper or cardstock.

Laminate and cut out.

Use the supplied arrow and tape/glue it to a clothespin.

This allows the teacher to move the arrow to the appropriate category.

If a clothespin is too cumbersome, use a paperclip to easily move the arrow around.

I highly recommend teaching these respect activities for kids tools during one-on-one teaching time before using for situational motivation.
