Making mistakes are a daily part of life. Help your students learn by mistake including how to handle and process mistakes.

Teach them the value of a mistake and how to identify if it’s a typical mistake that one can easily move on from or if the mistake is larger and needs more consideration.

The leveled monitor, inspired by a countdown strip and a stop light, helps students more fully understand the levels of mistakes and what they need to do to when a mistake occurs.

The Mistake Monitor is an effective tool for both general education students and students with learning disabilities including autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, or emotional disability.

The visual tool helps decrease the fear of making a mistake and works to help the individual process what a mistake it and how to learn from your mistake.

Making mistakes happen daily and show the different levels of mistakes.

Once a person comes to learn from your mistake, growing begins and fear and anxiety decrease.

I use these for students to keep at their work areas, in their folders or even wear on a lanyard around the neck.

Glue the printed chart on construction paper or cardstock.

Laminate and cut out. Use the supplied arrow and tape it to a clothespin.

This allows the teacher, parent or student to move the arrow to the appropriate time category.

If a clothespin is too cumbersome, use a paperclip to easily move around.

These learn from your mistake tools are effective for both general education students and students with learning disabilities including autism.
